This is the GAME progression: you earn XP by fighting and climb degrees and belts. It does not represent academy graduation.

1. WHITE: 0 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
2. BLUE: 1250 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
3. PURPLE: 2500 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
4. BROWN: 3750 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
5. BLACK: 5000 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
