Jiu-jitsu belts: order, degrees and progression

This is the GAME progression: you earn XP by fighting and climb degrees and belts. It does not represent academy graduation.

The official adult sequence continues with the red and black coral belt (degree 7), red and white coral belt (degree 8), and red belt (degree 9). Degree 10 is reserved for pioneers named by the IBJJF and cannot be earned in the game. XP and fights are gameplay rules only, never real time or promotion.

  1. WHITE: 0 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
  2. BLUE: 3500 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
  3. PURPLE: 7000 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
  4. BROWN: 10500 XP accumulated, with 4 degrees before the next belt
  5. BLACK: 14000 XP accumulated, with 6 degrees before the next belt
  6. RED AND BLACK CORAL, degree 7: starts at 18900 XP in the game and has one gameplay stage
  7. RED AND WHITE CORAL, degree 8: starts at 19600 XP in the game and has one gameplay stage
  8. RED, degree 9: starts at 20300 XP, the highest rank earnable in the game
